Description

This Spicy Cucumber Margarita is a light, refreshing, and low-sugar cocktail featuring fresh cucumber and jalapeno juice mixed with tequila, lime, and agave. Perfectly balanced with a mild spicy kick and customizable heat level, it’s a deliciously cool drink for any occasion.

Ingredients

Cucumber Jalapeno Juice

  • 2 large cucumbers
  • 1/2 - 1 jalapeno (depending on spice level)
  • 2 cups filtered water

Margarita

  • 1.5 oz tequila (one shot)
  • 1 tbsp agave syrup
  • Juice of 1 lime (about 1-2 tbsp)
  • 1/4 cup cucumber jalapeno juice

Additionals

  • Ice
  • Cucumber slice for garnish
  • Hot honey (for the rim)
  • Tajin (for the rim)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Glass Rims: Begin by coating the rims of six glasses with hot honey. Pour hot honey onto a plate and dip each glass rim into the honey until fully coated. Then, transfer the glasses to a plate filled with Tajin seasoning and dip to coat the rims evenly. Place the rimmed glasses in the freezer to chill while you prepare the rest.
  2. Make the Cucumber Jalapeno Juice: Slice the cucumbers and jalapeno, then add them to a blender with 2 cups of filtered water. Blend until smooth and well combined. Pour the mixture through a mesh strainer to remove the pulp, discarding the solids and keeping the juice.
  3. Mix the Margarita: In a cocktail shaker, combine 1.5 oz tequila, 1 tbsp agave syrup, the juice of one lime (about 1-2 tablespoons), and ice. Cover and shake vigorously until well chilled.
  4. Assemble the Drink: Remove the rimmed glasses from the freezer. Fill each with fresh ice, then strain the margarita mixture into the glass without the ice from the shaker. Top each glass with 1/4 cup of the freshly prepared cucumber jalapeno juice. Garnish with a cucumber slice and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Keep rimmed glasses in the freezer to serve a crisp, chilled margarita.
  • Use a fine mesh strainer to separate juice from pulp for a smooth drink.
  • If you don’t have a cocktail shaker, a protein shaker bottle can work as a substitute for mixing.
