Ingredients
Pizza Base and Toppings
- 2 flatbreads (such as naan or pita)
- 1/4 cup pizza sauce
- Dried oregano, to taste
- Ground black pepper, to taste
- Sea salt (coarse), to taste
- 1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese (shredded)
- Pepperoni (sliced), as desired
- Black olives (sliced), as desired
- Jalapeno pepper (sliced), as desired
- Red onion (thinly sliced), as desired
- Fresh basil (for garnish)
Hot Honey Sauce
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 tsp sriracha sauce
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 210°C (410°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
- Assemble Flatbreads: Spread 2–3 tablespoons of pizza sauce evenly over each flatbread. Sprinkle with dried oregano, ground black pepper, and coarse sea salt to season the base.
- Add Cheese and Toppings: Generously sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the sauced flatbreads. Evenly distribute sliced pepperoni, black olives, jalapeños, and thinly sliced red onion on top. Optionally, sprinkle additional dried oregano for extra flavor.
- Bake the Pizzas: Place the prepared flatbreads on the baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese has melted, is bubbling, and golden in spots.
- Prepare Hot Honey Sauce: While the pizzas bake, combine honey, sriracha, white vinegar, and red pepper flakes in a small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 20–30 seconds until the honey thins out, then stir well and set aside to cool slightly.
- Finish and Serve: Remove the baked flatbreads from the oven and immediately drizzle the hot honey sauce evenly over the pizzas. Garnish with fresh basil leaves, slice into pieces, and serve hot for the best taste experience.
Notes
- You can substitute flatbreads with naan, pita, or even tortillas to suit your preference.
- Adjust the amount of jalapeño and red pepper flakes in the hot honey sauce to control the heat level.
- The hot honey sauce can be prepared in advance and stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- For a vegetarian option, omit the pepperoni and add more vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms.
- Make sure to watch the pizzas closely in the oven to avoid over-browning.
