Description
Delicious and easy-to-make Frozen Chocolate Banana Bites featuring ripe bananas dipped in melted semi-sweet chocolate with a hint of coconut oil for smoothness. These bite-sized treats are perfect for a refreshing, sweet snack or dessert that requires minimal ingredients and preparation.
Ingredients
Fruit
- 3 bananas
Chocolate Coating
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tsp coconut oil
- Sea salt (optional)
Instructions
- Melt Chocolate: Add the semi-sweet chocolate chips and coconut oil into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds, then stir. Continue microwaving in 30-second intervals, stirring well each time, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth, about 1½ to 2 minutes total.
- Slice Bananas: Peel the bananas and slice them into approximately ½ inch thick rounds for easy dipping and snacking.
- Dip Bananas: Using a fork, dip each banana slice into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Allow any excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl to avoid clumps.
- Prepare for Freezing: Place the chocolate-coated banana slices on a baking tray lined with wax paper or parchment paper. Optionally, sprinkle a small amount of flaked sea salt on top of each slice to enhance flavor.
- Freeze: Place the tray into the freezer and freeze the banana bites for at least 2 hours or until solid and fully frozen.
Notes
- Use ripe but firm bananas to prevent mushy bites after freezing.
- For a dairy-free or vegan option, ensure your chocolate chips are vegan-friendly.
- Sprinkling sea salt adds a contrasting savory flavor but can be omitted if preferred.
- Store leftover banana bites in an airtight container in the freezer to maintain freshness.
- Allow bites to sit at room temperature for a couple of minutes before eating to soften slightly for best texture.
