Description

A quick and nutritious Frozen Berry Chia Jam made from frozen mixed berries cooked on the stovetop and thickened with chia seeds, sweetened lightly with honey or maple syrup. Perfect for a healthy spread or topping, ready in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen mixed berries (blueberries, blackberries, raspberries)
  • 3 Tbsp chia seeds
  • ½ Tbsp honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. Heat the Berries: Add the frozen mixed berries to a small pot and place it on the stove over medium heat. Keep the pot uncovered and stay nearby for stirring.
  2. Cook Until Soft: Stir occasionally as the berries defrost and soften, releasing their juices. Continue cooking until the mixture looks soupy and the berries have broken down.
  3. Add Chia and Sweetener: Remove the pot from heat and stir in the chia seeds and honey or maple syrup. Mix thoroughly to combine.
  4. Cool and Thicken: Let the jam cool in the pot for about 10 minutes, allowing the chia seeds to absorb liquid and thicken the jam. Serve immediately or store for later use.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey or maple syrup to taste.
  • Use any mix of frozen berries you prefer or have on hand.
  • The chia seeds naturally thicken the jam without needing additional pectin.
  • Store jam in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
