Ingredients
Crust
- 16 ounces crescent dough (from the refrigerated section)
Taco Cream Cheese Spread
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 ounces taco seasoning (divided)
Taco Meat
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup water
Toppings
- 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 3/4 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/3 cup chopped cilantro
- 1/3 cup taco sauce
- Optional: black olives, avocado, black beans, onions, jalapeno peppers
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheet: Heat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and cover a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Prepare the Crescent Dough Crust: Unroll the crescent dough sheets onto the prepared baking sheet, spreading them out evenly to form the pizza base.
- Bake the Crust: Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 10 minutes or until it turns lightly golden brown, then remove it from the oven and allow it to cool for about 5 minutes.
- Cook the Ground Beef: While the crust cools, brown the ground beef in a heavy skillet over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Season the Meat: Add one packet (approximately 1 ounce) of taco seasoning and 1/4 cup water to the browned beef, stir well, and cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring often to let the flavors absorb. Remove from heat afterward.
- Prepare the Taco Cream Cheese Spread: Soften the cream cheese by microwaving it in a microwave-safe bowl for 1-2 minutes until spreadable. Then, add the sour cream and the remaining taco seasoning (1 ounce) to the softened cream cheese, and beat together until smooth and well blended.
- Assemble the Pizza: Spread the prepared cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled crescent roll crust. Top with the cooked taco meat.
- Add Sauce and Cheese: Drizzle taco sauce evenly over the meat layer, then sprinkle shredded Cheddar cheese on top.
- Add Fresh Toppings: Finish by adding shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, chopped cilantro, and any optional toppings such as black olives, avocado slices, black beans, onions, or jalapeno peppers according to preference.
- Serve: Cut the taco crescent roll pizza into 12 pieces and serve immediately for best flavor and texture.
