Description
These Easy S'Mores Bars combine a crunchy graham cracker crust with a gooey marshmallow and melted chocolate topping for a deliciously soft and chewy treat. Perfect for a quick and simple dessert that captures the classic campfire flavors.
Ingredients
Crust
- 9 graham cracker squares, crushed
- ½ cup butter, melted
- ½ cup brown sugar
Topping
- 2 cups miniature marshmallows
- 1 ½ cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients and Pan: Gather all ingredients and preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line an 8x8-inch square baking pan with aluminum foil, allowing a 1-inch overhang on the sides for easy removal later.
- Make the Crust: Place the graham cracker squares into a plastic bag and crush them finely. Transfer the crumbs to a bowl and mix in the melted butter and brown sugar until well combined. Press this mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust.
- Bake the Crust: Bake the crust in the preheated oven for about 7 minutes, or until it is lightly browned and has a toasted aroma.
- Add Marshmallows and Chocolate: Remove the pan from the oven and evenly cover the crust with the miniature marshmallows. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the marshmallows.
- Finish Baking: Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 3 minutes, or until the chocolate chips are melted and the marshmallows are browned on top.
- Cool and Set: Allow the s'mores bars to cool in the pan for about 30 minutes. Then refrigerate for approximately 45 minutes until fully set.
- Cut and Serve: Using the foil overhang, lift the set bars from the pan. Cut into 12 squares and serve.
Notes
- You can alternatively melt the marshmallows and chocolate by placing the pan under the oven broiler for a few minutes, watching carefully to avoid burning.
- For easier cutting, refrigerate the bars until firm.
- Line the pan with foil to simplify removal and cleanup.
