Description
A quick and easy homemade frozen yogurt recipe using frozen fruits, Greek yogurt, and natural sweeteners. This creamy, refreshing dessert can be customized with your favorite fruits and extracts, perfect for a healthy treat that requires no ice cream maker.
Ingredients
Frozen Fruit
- 4 cups sliced frozen strawberries (or other frozen fruit of your choice)
- 2 cups sliced frozen banana
Base & Flavorings
- 1 cup whole milk Greek yogurt
- 2 tsp orange extract (or vanilla extract)
- 4 to 6 tbsp honey (more to taste, Greek honey recommended)
- 1/4 cup sugar (optional but highly recommended)
- 1 tbsp corn syrup (optional)
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: Place the frozen strawberries, frozen banana, Greek yogurt, orange or vanilla extract, honey, sugar, and corn syrup into the bowl of a food processor or a heavy-duty blender with a blade attachment.
- Blend Until Creamy: Blend all ingredients until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy with a smoothie-like consistency. Taste the mixture and add more honey if you prefer it sweeter.
- Freeze the Mixture: Transfer the blended mixture into a freezer-safe container and smooth out the surface. Press a piece of parchment paper directly on top to prevent ice crystals from forming. Freeze for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight.
- Serve: When ready to serve, let the frozen yogurt sit at room temperature for a few minutes until it softens enough to scoop easily. Use long, shallow scooping motions for the best texture. Enjoy your homemade frozen yogurt!
Notes
- You can substitute the frozen strawberries and bananas with any frozen fruit you prefer, such as blueberries, mango, or peaches.
- Adjust sweetness by varying the amount of honey or sugar according to your taste.
- The optional sugar and corn syrup help improve texture and prevent ice crystals but can be omitted for a more natural version.
- Use whole milk Greek yogurt for the creamiest texture; low-fat versions will yield a less creamy result.
- Letting the frozen yogurt soften before scooping enhances the texture and ease of serving.
