Description

A rich and naturally sweetened Chocolate Date Latte made with non-dairy milk, cacao powder, and dates. This warming beverage is infused with cinnamon and vanilla, offering a delightful dairy-free alternative to traditional lattes that can be enjoyed hot or cold.

Ingredients

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups non-dairy milk
  • 2 dates, pitted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients & Spices

  • 2 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon or 1-2 cinnamon sticks

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Add the non-dairy milk, cacao powder, pitted dates, cinnamon (either ground or sticks), and vanilla extract to a pot.
  2. Simmer: Bring the mixture to a low boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer and let it cook gently for 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  3. Remove Cinnamon: If using cinnamon sticks, carefully remove them from the pot before blending.
  4. Blend Smooth: Transfer the mixture to a blender and blend until completely smooth. Ensure the blender lid is secure to prevent steam from escaping during blending.
  5. Serve: Pour and enjoy the latte hot by itself, over ice for a chilled version, or poured over coffee for an added mocha twist.

Notes

  • Use soft medjool dates for easier blending and natural sweetness.
  • Non-dairy milks like almond, oat, or soy work best for creaminess.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more dates or cacao powder according to preference.
  • This latte can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days; reheat gently before serving.
  • For a stronger cinnamon flavor, use cinnamon sticks rather than ground cinnamon.
