Ingredients
Dough and Seasoning
- 2 tubes (13.8 ounces each) pizza dough
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
Cheese
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded, divided
- 2 cups parmesan cheese, grated, divided
Filling
- 2 cups rotisserie chicken, shredded, divided
- 1 cup alfredo sauce, divided
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray a large bundt pan with cooking spray to prevent sticking and set it aside.
- Prepare Dough Balls: Cut each tube of pizza dough into ½-inch pieces. Roll each piece gently with your hands into a small ball and place them into a large bowl.
- Season Dough Balls: Drizzle olive oil over the dough balls. Sprinkle Italian seasoning, minced garlic, ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese, and ½ cup grated parmesan cheese over the dough. Toss and coat all dough balls evenly with the seasoning and cheese using your hands.
- Layer Ingredients in Bundt Pan: Start by sprinkling ½ cup mozzarella and ½ cup parmesan cheese evenly into the bottom of the bundt pan. Add half of the seasoned dough balls on top, followed by half of the shredded chicken and half of the Alfredo sauce. Repeat the layering by adding ½ cup mozzarella, ½ cup parmesan, the remaining dough balls, the remaining chicken, and the rest of the Alfredo sauce. Finish by topping everything with the remaining ½ cup mozzarella and ½ cup parmesan cheese.
- Bake the Bread: Place the bundt pan in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes until the top is golden brown and the cheese has melted completely. This ensures the dough is cooked through and the flavors meld beautifully.
- Cool and Serve: Once baked, carefully invert the bundt pan onto a large plate so the bread releases. Allow the monkey bread to cool for about 5 minutes before serving to let it set slightly for easier pulling and serving.
Notes
- Use store-bought pizza dough for convenience or make your own homemade dough for a fresher taste.
- Shredded rotisserie chicken saves time, but you can cook and shred your own chicken breasts if preferred.
- Make sure to grease the bundt pan thoroughly to prevent sticking and ease removal of the bread.
- For a spicier variation, add some red pepper flakes to the seasoning mix.
- This dish can be reheated in the oven wrapped in foil to maintain moisture.
